The central university services support early-career researchers through a variety of programmes and courses.
heiTRACKS has since 2021 been the general trademark for the programmes geared specifically to the group of postdocs. Besides fostering research-relevant and cross-disciplinary skills, heiTRACKS also provides advisory and coaching sessions on all important decision-making processes.
On top of this, young researchers can take advantage of numerous services to assist them in enhancing their skills and in their research, teaching and transfer activities.

Career coaching for postdocs is aimed specifically at those who completed their doctoral training at least two and at most six years ago and are currently employed at Heidelberg University.

Mentoring Programme
In a structured mentoring programme, experienced mentors accompany postdoc researchers working towards a professorship as their career progresses.

Management programme “Towards a professorship”
The management programme “Towards a professorship” prepares postdoc researchers for leadership and management tasks at the university.

Certificate programme for junior professors
This programme accompanies junior professors and tenure-track professors in the development of cross-disciplinary skills.

+3 financing
One to three-year bridging funding makes it easier for Emmy Noether group leaders and holders of ERC starting grants to transfer to a professorship.
