After researchers have earned their doctorate, Heidelberg University supports them in their personal professional development.
Since 2021, heiTRACKS has been the platform for programs to further the careers of researchers with doctorates. It focuses on advice, gaining further qualifications, and networking. That allows them to take well-founded decisions as stepping-stones towards their individual careers and also to acquire transdisciplinary skills.

CareerPlus 2026 program out now
CareerPlus – heiTRACKS’ online series on professional development inside and outside academia is back in 2026 with three exciting impulses. Join us online to learn how to approach salary negotiations strategically, gain clarity on how the German academic system really works, and discover agile methods and mindsets that can make your work more efficient and adaptive. Each session offers practical insights, hands-on advice, and the chance to connect with experts on the topic. All events will be exclusively for postdocs and held in English. Mentoring information events
The new round of the heiTRACKS mentoring program will start in October. If you would like to find out more about the program or are already planning to apply, you are welcome to attend one of the online information events in May (in English).
