UNTIL WHEN CAN I REGISTER FOR THE “30 YEARS HAI” ANNIVERSARY? | There will be two registration phases:
- Early Bird: until 31 March 2026
- Regular Ticket: until 31 May 2026
Your registration will be treated as a reservation from our side. After successfully confirming you as a member of HAI or the GdF, you will be given a payment deadline of three weeks (21 days), during which you will have time to settle the bill. If your payment did not reach us by the end of the said deadline, your reservation will be deleted. You can obviously register again to receive a new payment deadline. | |
I AM NEITHER REGISTERED WITH HAI NOR GDF. CAN I STILL ATTEND “30 YEARS HAI”? | To register for “30 Years HAI” you need to be a member of either HAI or GdF – unless you are joining as an accompanying person of a member. Otherwise, you will not be able to register. You can sign up for free with HAI if you are or were a student, employee, lecturer or researcher at Heidelberg University. If you have no connection to the university but still feel attached to it and the city, you can join the Society of Friends. |
I AM STILL A STUDENT AT HEIDELBERG UNIVERSITY AND NOT YET AN ALUMUS OR ALUMNA: CAN I STILL ATTEND THE “30 YEARS HAI” ANNIVERSARY? | As an enrolled student at Heidelberg University, you can already sign up to our HAI network. This would qualify you to attend the anniversary. | |

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? | The booking system should send messages to the email address you provided when making your booking If you have not received any messages from the ticket system 15 minutes after making your booking, please check the spam folder of your email account. If you cannot find any messages there either, please contact us by email. | |
WHEN BOOKING “30 YEARS HAI”, I PROVIDED AN E-MAIL ADDRESS FOR MY COMPANION, BUT HE/SHE IS NOT RECEIVING ANY E-MAILS ABOUT THE BOOKING. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? | After your booking has been confirmed, the booking system should send messages to all the email addresses you provided when making the booking. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE? WILL THERE BE ADDITIONAL COSTS FOR ME? | The ticket price for “30 Years HAI” covers all events including the catering offered. There will be additional costs at the Ruperto Carola summer party, where food and beverages will be sold by the Studierendenwerk Heidelberg. Excluded from that will be the reception at the expense of the university. If you plan on consuming food or beverages not part of the catering during the Riverboat Shuffle, you will have to pay for them by yourself. The responsibility for all travel-, accommodation- and food costs during your stay lies with you. |
WILL THE PRICE BE REDUCED IF I DO NOT ATTEND ALL FOR DAYS? | No – registration and particiption fee apply to the entire period of the four days. A reduced price is not possible, even if you will not attend on all days. |
WHERE CAN I FIND AN OVERVIEW OF ALL THE “30 YEARS HAI” EVENTS? | All information on the alumni-events, the faculties’ and institutes’ programmes as well as our main events can be found on our website. CAN I ACCESS THE UNIVERSITY'S INTERNET VIA MY SMARTPHONE OR PERSONAL LAPTOP DURING MY STAY IN HEIDELBERG? | Yes – you can access the university’s internet via your personal devices for the duration of the anniversary. Upon your arrival in Heidelberg, all necessary information will be given to you at the HAI office. | |
CAN I USE THE STUDENT CANTEEN IN HEIDELBERG DURING MY STAY? | In principle, the university canteens are also open to non-members of the university at any time. However, the price for self-paying guests is higher. As a cheaper alternative, we will be offering meal vouchers for the canteen. They can be purchased at the HAI office (Marstallstraße 6). The voucher includes one main meal and a drink, and can be redeemed at the cafeterias and canteens of the university. | |
CAN I USE THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY DURING MY STAY IN HEIDELBERG? | As a former student of Heidelberg University, you may use the reading rooms of the University Library and its literature collections during your visit. However, you are not permitted to borrow items. | |
HOW CAN I GET AROUND IN HEIDELBERG? WILL THERE BE SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR THE PUBLIC TRANSPORT (BUSSES AND TRAMS)? | No, there won’t be special conditions for public transport. Depending on destination, number of passengers, personal status and discount entitlements, the ticket prices vary strongly. Single- and group-, short distance-, district-, airline- (via app “myVRN”), day- or multi-day tickets are available. Tickets can be purchased at all ticket machines by bus stops or online via the app. Holders of a “Deutschlandticket” or a “Baden-Württemberg-Ticket” are able to use all means of public transport as well as “S-Bahnen” and the regional transport. | |
