Anniversary 2011 Looking Back at 15 Years of HAI
In 2011, Heidelberg University alumni had two good reasons to return to the city on the Neckar: the 625th birthday of their alma mater and the 15th anniversary of Heidelberg Alumni International – an occasion to extend congratulations and to visit their venerable alma mater in person!

Around 320 alumni and friends from 40 countries from all continents followed the invitation and got to experience wonderful and impressive days! A varied and all-round successful program delighted all visitors, regardless of whether they came to Heidelberg for a longer period or just for a day. Highlights of the Alumni Anniversary Days were the reception in the Aula and the Belle Etage of the Old University, the network meeting in the reopened rooms of the New University, the literary evening with Patrik Roth and the legendary Riverboat Shuffle on the Neckar. For many alumni, it was already time to say goodbye to Heidelberg at the farewell event in the beautiful courtyard of the HCA. The response to the Alumni Days was very positive and everyone involved is already looking forward to the next reunion at and with their alma mater - Heidelberg University!
625 Years Ruperto Carola – 625 Greeting Cards From All Over the World
2011 was not only the year in in which HAI celebrated its 15th birthday, but also the year of Heidelberg University's 625th anniversary. To mark the occasion, HAI came up with something special: 625 alumni postcards for 625 years of Ruperto Carola! 625 greeting cards from all over the world – one card for every year of Ruperto Carola. Numerous alumni took part in the campaign, so that in the end far more than 625 postcards arrived in Heidelberg from all continents of the world. And for all those who were unable to travel to Heidelberg, this postcard was a wonderful opportunity to be part of the anniversary celebrations from afar. Many thanks to all those who sent in postcards!
