New platform for interaction between students: COMMUNITY

COMMUNITY – das ist das Campus-eigene Online-Tool auf Moodle: Mitmachen und unterstützen, netzwerken, informieren, treffen – you!

COMMUNITY fördert den lebendigen Austausch unter den Studierenden – und zwar fach- und semesterübergreifend. Über das Posten eines Beitrags in themenspezifischen Foren können Gleichgesinnte und Ansprechpartner*innen zu verschiedenen Themen gefunden werden. Über die in Moodle implementierte Nachrichtenfunktion kann dann direkt Kontakt aufgenommen werden.

Schreibwerkstatt intensiv: Gemeinsam starten, dranbleiben, abschließen

Planen Sie eine intensive Schreibphase in der vorlesungsfreien Zeit? Wollen Sie Ihr(e) Schreibprojekt(e) mit der Unterstützung einer Gruppe angehen? In der Schreibwerkstatt profitieren Sie vom intensiven Austausch mit anderen Schreibenden und werden dabei von einer Beraterin der Zentralen Studienberatung begleitet.

To enter Germany and study in Heidelberg, foreign students usually require an entry visa and a residence permit. The regulations vary according to nationality.

Special Services for Disabled & Chronically Ill Students

Heidelberg University supports disabled and chronically ill students on their way to a successful degree. The services are aimed at all students with chronical health problems. This also includes diseases such as AD(H)S, autism, dyslexia or depression. As a general rule, it is not the diagnosis but the need for help that is decisive.

As Representatives for Disabled and Chronically ill Students we provide support for students suffering from a chronic health condition who are interested in studying here or are already enrolled at Heidelberg University.

Special Services for Student Parents

For students with children, the University of Heidelberg, the Studierendenwerk, the municipality and the state offer numerous support programmes. In addition to special regulations regarding one's own studies, financial support, care and counselling are provided. The offer is aimed at expectant parents and students who already have children.

Studying with Children

Since the end of the 1960s, the Heidelberg student union has offered all-day childcare to make sure that their children are well looked after whilst their parents are busy concentrating in lectures. Children in Heidelberg receive loving care starting from 8 months to school age.

Studying with Children Working Group

Five percent of students nationwide have a child. The figure is six percent for women and only four percent for men. In Heidelberg, that is an astonishing 1550 students. We in the Study with Children working group want to shed light on the topics of "Pregnant Students" and "Studying with Children" from the students' perspective.
