Knowledge Transfer

Welcome to Knowledge Transfer at Heidelberg University! In addition to the promotion of start-ups and the exploitation of intellectual property, Heidelberg University also supports knowledge transfer in the areas of consulting (including politics, business, local authorities) and communication. The central concern is to transfer scientific content and findings to all areas of society, to absorb impulses from these areas and thus create added value. Promoting and communicating the research transfer achievements of members of the university is a key factor in the national and international visibility of the university in its profile-defining areas.

In the area of science communication, hei_INNOVATION initiates and supports knowledge transfer formats and collaborations with various partners at the layer of the individual visibility of scientists. At Heidelberg University, science communication geared towards the university's overarching and strategic goals is designed and implemented by the Rectorate's Department of Communication and Marketing (KuM). As part of the university's overall institutional communication, these formats are aimed at the general public as well as defined sub-publics. The aim is to make members of the university more visible in their achievements in research, teaching and transfer and to promote dialog with the respective social target groups.
