VW Foundation Social Transformations

The VW Foundation supports research that expands and critically reflects on the body of knowledge on transformation processes with different focal points. In doing so, they encourage researchers to involve stakeholders outside the scientific community in their projects, for example through participatory research or joint scientific communication.

Transfer projects in Collaborative Research Centres

Transfer projects in Collaborative Research Centres serve to test the findings of basic research under practical conditions or to further develop them into a prototype or an exemplary application together with an application partner. KulturLab HD

With the "KulturLabHD" cultural fund, the city of Heidelberg supports innovative cultural projects in Heidelberg. The "KulturLabHD" cultural fund is aimed at all creative Heidelberg residents who are realising new and innovative projects in the city.  The aim of the fund is to provide additional support for Heidelberg's cultural scene in addition to the other funding structures that have been in place for some time.

Stadt Heidelberg Foundation

The Stadt Heidelberg Foundation is particularly interested in funding projects that deal with issues from a scientific perspective that are related to the concerns of the city of Heidelberg or contribute to informing a broad public about the activities of Heidelberg University. Grants are awarded, for example, for public lectures, exhibitions, special events, printing costs, travel expenses, personnel funds for scientific projects as well as advertising campaigns, room hire and fees for public events.

Communicator Prize

The Stifterverband and the German Research Foundation (DFG) are once again organising the "Communicator Prize - Science Prize of the Stifterverband". This prize is awarded to scientists or a research team for outstanding achievements in science communication.

Klartext Prize

Every year, the Klaus Tschira Foundation awards the KlarText Prize for Science Communication to young researchers who have written a very good doctoral thesis and are keen to explain to a non-scientific audience what they have actually done in their research. And they do so in the form of a generally understandable article or a clear infographic.
