CfA: DFG Communicator Prize 2024

Applications are now open for the Communicator Prize, which honours outstanding achievements in science communication. The prize is awarded to scientists or a research team and is endowed with 50,000 euros. It supports researchers from all disciplines for making their scientific work and their subject area accessible to a broad public in a particularly creative, diverse and sustainable way, thus promoting dialogue between science and society. The deadline for applications is January 2, 2024. 

CfA: EXIST Women

Organisation: Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action

Target Group: Women interested in founding a startup

Date: January 15, 2024

hei_INNOVATION has been given the opportunity to participate in the EXIST Women program. The aim of this funding is to familiarize women who are interested in founding a company and have an affinity for start-ups with the topics of startups and self-employment at an early stage. We want to inspire women with different backgrounds, whether they are graduates, academics, students or have a professional qualification and a connection to the university, for the exciting topic of starting a business. The program starts on December 1, 2023 and the funding includes support for a maximum of ten scholarship holders over a period of three months, with a monthly stipend of between € 1000 and € 3000. In addition, the scholarship holders receive a one-off grant of € 2000 for material resources. Funding of innovative research projects with a high translational potential

Organisation: Else Kröner-Fresenius-Stiftung (EKFS)

Target Group: Academic researchers

In Germany, there is wide gap between successful basic medical and scientific research and its timely, direct application in everyday clinical practice for the benefit of patients. For this reason, the Else Kröner-Fresenius-Stiftung (EKFS) funds innovative research projects with a high translational potential, through its non-profit subsidiary ForTra gGmbH for Research Transfer. It aims to bring promising developments to application as quickly as possible in order to help the sick or prevent diseases. Research projects applying for EKFS Translatorik funding, need to clearly define the respective patient-relevant application potential and present first convincing research results. Applications can be submitted at any time.

upCAT - The accelerator programme

Organisation: enTechnon, the Chair of Entrepreneurship and Technology Management and the KIT-Gründerschmiede

Target Group: Scientists, researchers and students from the KIT environment, KIT partners and the Helmholtz Association with focus on deep tech

Then the Start-up Catalyst – upCAT – is the right place for you. upCAT is a joint offer of enTechnon, the Chair of Entrepreneurship and Technology Management and the KIT-Gründerschmiede. Teams of scientists, researchers and students from the KIT environment, KIT partners and the Helmholtz Association may participate. Teams should focus on Deep Tech.

Novo Nordisk validatioNN funding program   

Organisation: Novo Nordisk

Target Group: Life science scientists

The validatioNN funding initiative within the Novo Nordisk Science2Medicine program is aimed at life science scientists seeking (financial) support for a key experiment. The aim of this short grant is to test a clinically relevant hypothesis. The focus is on cardiometabolic diseases. Project funding is up to 50,000 € for six to nine months. Additional support is provided through access to resources and exchange with Novo Nordisk experts. Application by a written proposal is possible on an ongoing basis. Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE)

Organisation: Italienischen Handelskammer für Deutschland e.V (ITKAM)

Target Group: Young entrepreneur students

Do you want to explore new markets and develop and test your own skills abroad? With the EU-funded mentorship Erasmus programme for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) and EYE Global, young entrepreneurs -up to 3 years of start-up experience, have the opportunity to work with an experienced entrepreneur abroad. The collaboration can last up to 6 months in EU countries and up to 3 months in the USA, Canada, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Israel. During this time, financial support is available. There are new mentors who are looking for innovative entrepreneurs.
