Guest auditors
You can register as a guest auditor if you are interested in attending lectures at Heidelberg University without being enrolled as a regular student. This will enable you to attend lectures from a wide range of subject areas.
Registration
You do not need any special qualifications to register as a guest auditor. You do not need any special school leaving certificate (see Act on Higher Education of the Land of Baden Württemberg § 64).
As a guest auditor, you must register through the online application portal heiCO (see the instructions manual in the link on the right). Please note that participation as a guest auditor requires a new application via heiCO for each semester.
If you have questions or run into problems, please contact gasthoerende@zuv.uni-heidelberg.de
Please let us know about all the courses you would like to attend. You can find the complete list in the link on the right.
Please note: Please be sure to select the appropriate semester.
As a guest auditor, you will receive a Uni-ID. To do so, you must upload a scan of your ID card or passport (front and back) to heiCO. The Uni-ID is a university-wide identification number. Among other things, it allows you to use the IT services provided by the University Computing Center (URZ) as well as services within the statewide network of universities in Baden-Württemberg.
Registration deadline
Registration for the summer semester should be completed between 1 March and 30 April. The dates for the winter semester are from 1 August to 31 October.
INFORMATION ON COURSE SELECTION
Please note that guest auditors are only admitted to courses if there is sufficient capacity.
When registering for courses in degree programs with restricted admission, there may be delays, since we first need to obtain confirmation from the respective lecturer as to whether spots are still available for guest auditors.
If the course you wish to attend is not a lecture, we will need written approval from the lecturer. To do so, please fill out the “Confirmation for Guest Auditors” form and, once it has been signed by the lecturer and stamped by the department, upload it as a PDF file to your heiCO account.
Guest auditors are not admitted to examinations. Examination prerequisites completed as a guest auditor will not be recognised as part of a degree programme. You will not receive a student ID card (Campuscard).
