German Citizens

In subjects with no admission restrictions and no required entrance examination, you may – if you meet the formal prerequisites – enrol during the official enrolment period. A prior application in due form and time is required.

EU/EEA citizens and international applicants with a German university entrance qualification

The exact nature of the application procedure for subjects without admission restrictions or entrance examinations depends on an applicant’s nationality, the type of university entrance qualification he/she holds and where it was gained, as well as the applicant’s chosen subject.

Applicants from non-EU/EEA countries

International applicants from non-EU/EEA countries with a non-German university entrance qualification must submit an application for admission to any subject at Heidelberg University.
