Germany ScholarshipFAQ - Selection process
How are the recipients of the Germany Scholarship selected?
The current process for awarding Germany Scholarships uses the criteria weighted as follows:
- Performance at school or during your studies: 60%
- Volunteer work, awards, voluntary internships or completed professional training: 20%
- Personal and family circumstances: 20%
When making the selection, the scholarship selection committee should give secondary consideration to other factors such as the CV, the motivation outlined in the online application form and the letters of recommendation submitted as part of the overall picture of the respective application.
When is the selection process complete?
The selection process is expected to be complete in mid November. All applicants will then be notified in writing of the decision. Please inform us if your postal address has changed compared to the one indicated in your application, in the meantime.
Will I receive confirmation regarding the outcome of my application?
Yes, every applicant will be notified in writing after the selection process is complete. Acceptance and rejection notices are expected to be sent out in late November. Please inform us if your postal address has changed compared to the one indicated in your application, in the meantime. We ask that you please refrain from requesting status updates in the interim. Thank you very much.
Will my application documents be sent back to the sender's address in the event of a rejection?
Because of the high number of applicants, the written application documents will not be returned. The application documents can be picked up at the office (Hauptstr. 126) during our opening hours until mid March of the following year, upon presentation of an identity card. Please make an appointment if you want to get your application documents back by sending an email to
