In order to advance the professional exchange between science and society in the field of science communication, the Rectorate’s department of Communications and Marketing (KuM) offers partners in the university’s central and decentralised facilities various types of advice and support adapted to the respective target groups, media and formats.

Science communication embraces all aspects of communicating academic work and findings, both within academia and in communication between the university and the general public. Science communication uses classical media in the form of text, images and moving images, and, increasingly, online formats.


Services on offer

  • Advising members of the university on handling the media and different target groups in the general public
  • Planning, organising and/or providing back-up for target group-specific event formats
  • Designing, developing and implementing digital media and publications, including the research magazine “Ruperto Carola”
  • Graphics services for designing print and digital products such as posters, brochures and flyers
  • Renting premises to external partners of the university
