Degree programmes requiring application for advanced semesters
This page contains all the information you need regarding application deadlines for advanced semesters in Master’s degree programmes.
International applicants with a non-German university degree must always submit completed applications for all programmes prior to the established deadline. This also applies to advanced semesters.
For some degree programmes, both German citizens and international applicants with a German university entrance qualification are required to submit an application to the Student Administration.
Please note: for the advanced academic semesters of programmes leading to a Master of Education degree (specialisation in Gymnasium-level instruction or in higher education instruction at vocational schools) or for supplementary subjects leading to a Master of Education degree (specialisation in Gymnasium-level instruction), the application is required to be submitted to the Student Administration. These subjects are not specifically listed in the following table.
Information regarding the advanced semesters in the degree programmes Gerontology, Health, Care (leading to a Master of Education degree with a specialisation in higher education instruction at vocational schools) or for their respective partial degree programmes is not yet available.

APPLICATION DEADLINES FOR ADVANCED SEMESTERS*
GERMAN APPLICANTS AND INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS WITH A GERMAN UNIVERSITY DEGREE
German applicants and international applicants with a German university degree who meet the formal prerequisites may enrol prior to the established deadline for advanced semesters in access-restricted degree programmes and continuing education Master’s degree programmes. Please consult the faculty or academic advisory service for the specific degree programme to ascertain the deadlines required to be met in order to obtain the required confirmation of aptitude for studies.
If an application is required to be submitted to the Student Administration (see above) in order to enrol in advanced semesters for a degree programme, the application deadlines below apply.
INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS WITH A NON-GERMAN UNIVERSITY DEGREE
International applicants with a non-German university degree must submit applications for the advanced semesters in all Master’s degree programmes prior to the deadlines listed below.
For continuing education Master’s degree programmes, please consult the specific institute/faculty for information regarding the application and deadlines.

If the deadline for application falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday, the deadline will not be extended to the end of the next working day (§ 31, para. 3, item 2 and para. 5 of the Baden-Württemberg State Administration Act [Landesverwaltungsverfahrensgesetz]).
