APPLICATION FOR THE FIRST ACADEMIC SEMESTERMASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMMES WITH ACCESS AND ADMISSION RESTRICTIONS AND/OR SELECTION INTERVIEWS

All Master’s degree programmes at Heidelberg University are access-restricted. In each case, the restrictions are stipulated in the admission regulations for the relevant subject. Restrictions might require for example, that students have successfully completed an undergraduate degree programme and achieved an above-average grade, or that they have already gained specific professional experience.

Alongside access restrictions, a number of Master’s degree programmes are also admission-restricted. This means that the number of places available in these subjects is limited. If the number of applicants exceeds the number of places available, only the best applicants will be admitted to the course. For some Master’s degree programmes, an applicant’s suitability for the course will also be determined in a selection interview or an entrance examination.

The general information which we’ve provided for your here, has been compiled according to its applicability to specific applicant groups. Which information and provisions are relevant to you will depend on which applicant group you belong to. Before beginning the application process, find out what the application and admission process will entail for your chosen subject.
