The Research Grants Council of Hong Kong is launching the Seventeenth Round of the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (the “Scheme”) for 2026/27 academic year intake.  The Scheme aims to attract top international students to pursue PhD studies in Hong Kong’s world-class research universities.  At present, the fellowship provides a monthly stipend of HK$28,400 (approx. US$3,640) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$14,200 (approx. US$1,820) per year for a period of three years.  A total of 400 fellowships will be awarded for PhD studies commencing in the 2026/27 academic year.
