DissertationEXEMPTION FROM MANDATORY ENROLMENT FOR DOCTORAL CANDIDATES
All doctoral candidates who have been admitted to their faculty are obliged by law to enrol with the University during their doctoral project. Enrolment is mandatory until the date of the oral examination (viva voce exmaniation or defense). Doctoral candidates who have a work contract with Heidelberg University or with the University Hospital in Heidelberg or in Mannheim can apply for an exemption.
PREREQUISITES AND APPLICATION:
To obtain an exemption from mandatory enrolment you must be employed in your primary occupation at Heidelberg University, at Heidelberg University Hospital or at University Medical Centre Mannheim. That is the case if you have an employment contract of 50 % or more of the regular working hours of a full-time employee.
