Exchange ProgramsOnline Application Guide
On this page you will find information about the online application process. Please read this important information carefully before you apply. Tips on writing a letter of motivation or study proposal, the curriculum vitae and on the expert opinions can be found on the page "Notes on application documents ". If you have any questions, please have a look at our FAQ's or feel free to contact the Infocenter Study Abroad.
Submit online application
You can submit your application for our exchange programs and all required documents via an online platform. You will find the link to the respective online application on the individual announcement pages, where you will also find all information on the application requirements and the documents to be submitted. Follow the link and complete the application form displayed. The online platform will open six weeks before the application deadline.
Important: We strongly recommend taking a language test in a test center and not choosing a home test variant. More and more universities no longer accept a home test (e.g. Toefl IBT Home Edition)!
Note: In principle, only one application is to be submitted per country; within this application, you can specify up to three preferences. If you want to apply for different countries, you usually have to create a separate online application for each country. For exceptions, please refer to the individual calls for applications.
NEW: One can specify up to three universities from the Latin America program. If you have any questions regarding the application, you can contact the InfoCenter or Mrs. Dorn (dorn@zuv.uni-heidelberg.de)!
After submitting, you will receive an email asking you to register. Choose a username and set a secure password.
The necessary data can then be completed and the required application documents uploaded.
Attention: Please make sure you have the correct documents before uploading, as uploading is only possible once.
Note: The reports should be sent directly to the International Relations Department (possible by email). In case of problems you can contact the Infocenter Study and Internship Abroad. Original documents should be submitted to the International Relations Department upon request at a later date.
Edit an existing application
If you have already specified a user name and password, you can interrupt processing and continue later.
Please note that in principle all required information and documents must be available by the application deadline.
