Study and internship abroad Application documents

Please note the information on the application process on the pages of the individual exchange programs. There you will find a list of the documents required for your application. Please read carefully to find out what these are: for example, some programs require you to write a narrative CV, while for others a tabular list is sufficient. Some of the required forms, as well as information sheets and help, can be downloaded below.

Note on language certificates: Unless otherwise stated, DAAD certificates are required for exchange programs. You can take such a test at the Central Language Laboratory of Heidelberg University (see link below). If TOEFL or IELTS are explicitly required in the announcements, this applies. This primarily applies to programs in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and selected Asian partner universities. For the TOEFL, we strongly recommend taking a language test at a test center and not choosing a home test option. More and more universities are no longer accepting home tests (e.g., TOEFL IBT Home Edition).

Language proficiency report

If a Toefl or IELTS certificate is not required for your application, you can have your language skills tested in the Central Language Laboratory of Heidelberg University after prior registration. Please use the following language certificate for the language test.

If you can't get a transcript of records at your institute, we ask you to compile a list of your completed courses on your own with the following form. You can have your list verified by us by presenting your original certificates.
