Applications for subjects with nationwide admission restrictions – at Heidelberg University, these are Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy – must always be made to the Foundation for University Admission (Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung). Any documents received at the university will not be evaluated.

This also applies to applicants who are EU/EEA citizens as well as international applicants with a German university entrance qualification.

Procedure

All applications for degree programmes with nationwide admission restrictions must be made at hochschulstart.de.
Please note that admission to degree programmes in Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dentistry at Heidelberg University will only be granted for the winter semester. For these programmes, the closing dates for applications at the Foundation for University Admission (Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung) are 15 July for applicants who obtained their university entrance qualification after 15 January of the same year (“school leavers”), or 31 May for applicants who obtained their university entrance qualification prior to or on 15 January of the same year. More information regarding the documents required may be obtained from the Foundation for University Admission (Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung).

Since the following information on the application procedure may differ slightly for international applicants with a German university entrance qualification and for EU/EEA citizens, it will be presented separately for each case.
