The Master's degree programme in Assyriology focusses on the high cultures of the ancient Near East. The aim of Assyriology is the study of the languages, scripts, history, religions, literature, economy, science, society, legal system, and material relics of the ancient Near East. Along with other material relics, cuneiform documents serve as major sources.
In the Master’s degree programme, Assyriology may be studied as either a minor or a major subject. As a minor, students have a choice of two models, depending upon their existing knowledge of Assyriology.
For students pursuing the degree programme as a major, the choice of a minor subject is at the student’s discretion. However, it is recommended that students select Near Eastern Archaeology as their minor subject.
