UNIVital was created in autumn 2018 through a collaboration between Heidelberg University and Techniker Krankenkasse as a student health management programme. It deals with the physical and mental health of students and aims to promote and maintain this in the long term. Since the beginning of 2023, UNIVital has encompassed the entire university health management system. Since then, the long-term and sustainable health promotion of students AND employees has been the main objective of the project and is also to be implemented with the help of students themselves in the form of assistants. As part of the promotion of mental health, it is important to us to sensitise students and employees of Heidelberg University to mental health problems and to reduce prejudices against people with mental illnesses. There are already numerous students and employees at Heidelberg University who have completed MHFA (Mental Health First Aid) training. Please contact mhfa-univital@uni-heidelberg.de if you are not feeling well, are experiencing a crisis, or have any other worries. We will strive to help you and refer you to the appropriate contact persons and contact points at the university. In October 2023, we were able to offer a health week for students and employees. Previously, this was only available to employees of Heidelberg University. A distinction was made between the needs and interests of students and employees, and a programme was created for each target group, resulting in an entirely separate health week. It was possible to take part in free cooking courses, lectures, film and games evenings, and information events, e.g., on the autism centre or inclusive studying. |
