Research Assistants
Pool of Assistants
In cooperation with the members and institutions of Heidelberg University, HEDIT trains its own assistants in the use of digital and analogue editing tools. This pool of assistants can be used by all HEDIT members who need support with their (planned or ongoing) editing projects.
The assistants trained by HEDIT can be requested in particular for the tasks of transcription, annotation, collation, correction and database entry. However, they can also be trained in specific areas by arrangement between the projects and HEDIT. In addition, depending on the needs of the project, they can also introduce other assistants to editorial work.
A HEDIT assistant can be employed for a maximum of three months, the pool is also not intended to finance assistants already working on projects. Rather, the aim is to create a pool of assistants who can provide editorial philological knowledge and editorial manpower on a long-term basis.

Application
The application to use the pool of assistants is submitted to HEDIT with a detailed explanation
of the tasks for which the assistants are needed and the time required.
The board decides on the allocation and distribution of assistants.
