CellNetworks Core Facilities Symposium
The Field of Focus 1 Research Council supports the development of technological facilities (Core Facilities) through financing and advisory service.
The Cluster of Excellence CellNetworks was instrumental in fostering the infrastructure of the Heidelberg Life Science Campus and now serves as an umbrella organisation for the Core Facilities, the CellNetworks Core Technology Platform (CCTP).
Junior scientists in particular should have easy access to the latest technology without any bureaucratic obstacles. The Core Facilities offer support to their users on three different levels:

- Allocation of equipment
CCTP-ASSOCIATED CORE FACILITIES
Advanced Biological Screening Facility (ABSF)
The screening facility offers assay development, automated sample preparation and high-throughput solid phase transfection with siRNAs high-throughput microscopy, and automated data validation.
Core Facility for Mass Spectrometry & Proteomics (CFMP)
The CFMP offers qualitative and quantitative proteomics, allowing protein and protein-interactome identification and characterization, including detection and localization of posttranslational modifications.
Electron Microscopy Core Facility (EMCF)
The EMCF provides technical and scientific support for transmission and scanning electron microscopy. The scientific staff will especially help to optimize biological sample preparation, the key to successful electron microscopy.
Flow Cytometry & FACS Core Facility (FFCF)
The FFCF´s state-of-the-art instruments allow sorting of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. The team offers individual tutorials to flow cytometry and the use of the analytical instruments, and support concerning flow cytometry as a method.
Metabolomics Core Technology Platform (MCTP)
The MCTP offers a broad range of qualitative and quantitative metabolite analyses. It determines concentrations of small molecules in biological samples, offering tailor-made solutions and standardized Metabolomics assays.
nCounter Core Facility
The nCounter Core Facility provides access to one of the current state-of-the-art expression profiling technologies: an instrument designed for multiplexed measurement of gene expression using fluorescently labeled reporter probes.

Biomechanics Core Facility
The Biomechanics Core Facility provides standardized and reproducible mechanical characterization of soft (bio) materials, as well as specific sample preparation methods required for the characterization.
Core Facility Platform Mannheim Campus
The Core Facility Platform Mannheim, CFPM, consists of seven Core Facilities covering diverse areas and creating a Core Facility Pipeline, which operates research requests from basic analysis to imaging, microscopy, cell sorting and up to data analysis.
Heidelberg Lipidomics offers qualitative and quantitative lipidomics analyses.
Infectious Diseases Imaging Platform (IDIP)
The Infectious Diseases Imaging Platform (IDIP) provides, develops and applies high-end microscopy infrastructure under conditions of enhanced biosafety containment 2 and 3 (BSL-2 and 3) to enable infectious diseases research.
The newly installed MINFLUX nanoscope offers super-resolution microscopy with a resolution up to 2 nm in 3D.
Scientific Facility for Microfabrication and Microfluidics
Microfluidics is an emerging field and is finding use in various disciplines. At the Scientific Facility for Microfabrication and Microfluidics we aim to provide this valuable tool to every interested research group in and around the Neuenheimer Feld.
