Working And Researching Abroad Massachusetts/Baden-Württemberg Faculty Mobility Program
In view of the successful cooperation between Baden-Württemberg and the University of Massachusetts, it is intended to place greater focus on collaboration between researchers. For the year 2026, the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts of Baden-Württemberg is therefore providing grants for visits to University of Massachusetts campuses to help establish new research contacts and strengthen existing partnerships.
PARTICIPATING INSTITUTIONS
Participating University of Massachusetts campuses:
Amherst, Boston, Dartmouth, Lowell, Chan Medical School Worcester
DURATION OF PROGRAM
The grants are available primarily for short-term stays of 3 to 14 days at one of the UMass campuses. Longer stays are also possible if funds are available.
GRANT
For short-term stays:
- travel allowance of 1,200€
- scholarship of 600€
For longer stays:
- travel allowance of 1,200€
- scholarship of 1,200€/ month (max. 6 months)
APPLICATION

- detailed project description including justification of the selection of the host/hosting institution and the significance of travel for future collaboration
- invitation letter of host/hostess
DEADLINE
Applications for the calendar year 2026 must be submitted by January 31, 2026.
