Service Personnel Job Ticket for University Employees
Employees of Heidelberg University have the option of purchasing the Deutschlandticket as a Job Ticket (Deutschlandticket Job HD). Employees of the hospital and medical faculties should contact their local human resources department. Differences between the “Deutschlandticket Job des Landes” and further background information can be found on the following pages.
The university subsidizes the “Deutschlandticket Job HD” with a monthly allowance of €25.00.
The current negotiations regarding the price increase for the Deutschlandticket from January 1, 2026, will not affect the amount of the university subsidy. This will continue to be €25.00 per month.
If you no longer wish to use the “Deutschlandticket Job HD” due to the expected price increase from January 1, 2026, please note that you must cancel by December 10, 2025.
Detailed information on the general terms and conditions of the Deutschlandticket, which also apply to the subsidized “Deutschlandticket Job HD,” can be found on the rnv website.

Alternative: The Deutschlandticket Job des Landes
With the introduction of the Deutschlandticket on May 1, 2023, state employees (e.g. research assistants and student assistants) have the alternative option of obtaining the JobTicket BW subsidized by the State Office for Salaries and Pensions. The subsidy for the JobTicket BW is currently 25 euros per month and is paid monthly with the current remuneration or salary. Further information on this is available from the State Office for Salaries and Pensions.
Information on the income tax treatment of the Job Ticket
As an employer, Heidelberg University pays a monthly subsidy to rnv for each holder of a “Deutschlandticket Job HD”. This makes the Job Ticket cheaper than a regular Deutschlandticket. The annual amount of this subsidy is reported as a monetary benefit in the electronic income tax statement under "Employer benefits for travel between home and work".
