Career Support Management Program “Towards a Professorship”

Call for applications for the 2026 program year open
In the context of Heidelberg University’s career support through heiTRACKS, the management program “Towards a Professorship” is addressed to postdoctoral researchers from all faculties pursuing an academic career. The next program round begins in February 2025. Applications are possible up until 7 November 2025.
The program aims to prepare participants directly for leadership roles at the university, to support them in their personal career planning and to enable interdisciplinary networking. It consists of three seminar modules. The topics of these modules include negotiation, understanding conflicts, leadership skills and appointment procedures. In addition, individual coaching and peer coaching are available on request.
Heidelberg University groups its offerings for promoting the careers of postdoctoral researchers under the brand-name heiTRACKS. Priorities are the fields of coaching and advice, gaining special qualifications and networking. They are designed to support well-founded decisions on individual career steps and also the acquisition of cross-disciplinary skills.
