Heidelberg is one of Europe’s leading centres of innovation. An outstanding example of this innovative strength is the FLEXOO spin-off of the InnovationLab technology transfer platform – a deep-tech company from this ecosystem and a pioneer in the development of a new generation of sensors, as foundation for so-called ‘Physical AI’.

Details

Heidelberg is one of Europe’s leading centres of innovation. As a key driver, InnovationLab GmbH brings together cutting-edge research with leading companies and innovative start-ups, supporting researchers from the initial idea through to a market-ready application in order to significantly advance new technologies and bring them to market more quickly.

An outstanding example of this innovative strength is FLEXOO – a deep-tech company from this ecosystem and a pioneer in the development of a new generation of sensors. These are so thin and flexible that they can be integrated directly into machines. There, they monitor what is happening inside – for example, pressure, movement or temperature.

This lays the foundation for so-called ‘Physical AI’: systems that can sense their environment and react to it. Machines are becoming more precise, robots more sensitive, and industrial processes more efficient and safer.

Look forward to exclusive insights into the production and development of a technology that is having a significant impact on key future sectors such as energy, mobility and robotics.
