Please note that the deadlines and the posting dates of the notices in particular may be subject to change. These dates are not applicable for the subjects of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy. For these subjects separate dates are set by the Foundation for University Admission (see www.hochschulstart.de).

Posting of the notices of admission / rejection for international applicants*

All of the applicants will be notified of the results of the admission procedure in writing approximately 4‒8 weeks after the application deadline. The notice of admission includes information on matriculation deadlines, required examinations, and an acceptance statement which is to be returned immediately. Applicants are not entitled to the renewal of their notice of admission for the following semester.

Applicants who are not admitted to Heidelberg University and applicants who have not been included in the admission procedure due to formal reasons will receive a written notice of rejection. The notices of rejection including the reasons for the rejection are posted within 8 weeks after the application deadline.

1. Free admissions programmes

German applicants matriculate in writing. Please request the appropriate matriculation forms from the Registrar’s Office and include a self-addressed, stamped DIN C4 envelope. You can also download the forms from the download centre.

International applicants must always apply with the Akademisches Auslandsamt prior to matriculation.

Other dates*

Re-registration for summer semester 2017 15 January to 15 February 2017

Using Heidelberg University’s on-line service you can re-register and pay your fees on-line using direct debit in the LSF. You can then print out the certificates.

Alternatively you can pay your fees by bank transfer. It will take a few days for the payment to show up in the system. As soon as your payment has been received, you are re-registered automatically.

Once the re-registration period has started, the respective „Rückmeldung, Gebühren und Beiträge“ function will be available. Please log in to the LSF and go to <Dokumentation> -> <Dokumentation für den Online-Service für Studierende> for further information.

Leave of absence beginning of semester: 18 April 2017 (after successful re-registration)

* Please note:
If a deadline ends on a Sunday, an official holiday or a Saturday, it is not extended to the next working day (section 31 para. 3 sentence 2 and para. 5 Landesverwaltungsverfahrensgesetz Baden-Württemberg).
