INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS FROM NON-EU/EEA COUNTRIES Internal University Selection Procedure

For admission-restricted degree programmes, 8 to 10% of all places are available to international students. If the number of applicants exceeds the number of available university places, the University will implement its own internal selection procedure for the respective subject.

International applicants from non-EU/EEA countries with a foreign university entrance qualification (e.g. High School Diploma, Attestat, Maturità, etc.) must submit an application for admission directly to Heidelberg University for any subject studied at Bachelor’s level, or with a concluding state examination.

Heidelberg University allocates study places in accordance with the selection criteria specified in the applicable Higher Education Admission Ordinance on the basis of the applicable Higher Education Admission Act.

FEATURES SPECIFIC TO CERTAIN DEGREE PROGRAMMES

Applications for the degree programme in Medical Informatics, BA 100% must be made to Heilbronn University. The degree programme cannot be selected via Heidelberg University’s application portals. ADMISSION AND COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for any degree programme (Bachelor’s degree or state examination) at Heidelberg University must hold a university entrance qualification, and have very good German language skills. When assessing non-German qualifications, Heidelberg University applies the evaluation framework provided by the Central Office for Foreign Education (Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen, ZAB).
