Excursions programmeBamberg

Saturday, 25 January

Our last daytrip of the semester sees us head to Bamberg, home to Germany’s largest preserved old town which was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1993. Our tour of Bamberg will take us past the Old Town Hall which uniquely sits on an island in the river Regnitz. We’ll continue on through “Little Venice” with its original fisherman’s houses, and past the Roman-Gothic imperial cathedral with the statue of the famous Bamberg Horseman.

In the afternoon, you’ll trace the footsteps of the Prince Archbishops of Bamberg as you enjoy a guided tour of the New Residence castle and learn about life in the Baroque courts.
