The Graduate Academy of Heidelberg University of offers doctoral students a seminar program tailored to their specific needs and a wide range of further education opportunities.

Beside the open course programme for which registered doctoral candidates can register individually, the organisers of doctoral programmes have the option to book tailor-made courses for their doctoral students. A doctoral degree opens up a wide range of career opportunities both in academia and in the private sector. The Graduate Academy offers advice and support in planning a future career path after having completed the degree.

Graduate Academy Seminar Program

The seminar program of the Graduate Academy supports doctoral candidates in developing individual skills and in obtaining the qualifications necessary to successfully accomplish a dissertation and to develop professional perspectives for a career in academia or in the private sector.

Events and lecture series

The Graduate Academy hosts the event “Welcome to Heidelberg” and the lecture series “Primers for PreDocs” on a regular basis. The welcome event for new doctoral students takes place several times per year on campus.  In the lecture series “Primers for PreDocs” several speakers talk about important aspects for a successful doctoral phase.
