Commission for Research & StrategyMembers
The Commission for Research and Strategy was established with the launch of Excellence Initiative II in 2012 and enlarged in the context of the Excellence Strategy in 2020. In accordance with its statute, the Commission currently has the following members:
- the Rector, the Vice-Rector for Research, and the Vice-Rector for Innovation and Transfer,
- two representatives from each Research Council (RC), including representatives from the Flagship Initiatives,
- the two directors of the Marsilius Kolleg,
- a professorial representative from the Heidelberg Center for the Environment (HCE),
- a professorial representative from the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing (IWR),
- two junior researchers,
- two selected members of the senate.
The Vice-Rector for Quality Development, the Equal Opportunities Commissioner, the Director of the Research Division, and the Director of Communications and Marketing are permanent guest participants in the meetings of the Commission for Research and Strategy and each has an advisory role. The Commission meets four times per year and as needed.
