If you were employed in Germany and liable for income tax in the current year, you should submit an application for income tax equalization to the tax office at your place of residence in the following year. The submission deadline for the 2023 tax return is September 2, 2024. The deadline for tax returns with a tax advisor or income tax assistance association is June 2, 2025.
The Federal Tax Administration offers tax return forms for downloading and completing on the website linked on the right. These forms can be completed by hand and submitted to the Heidelberg tax office.
