Working And Researching Abroad Connecticut/Baden-Württemberg Faculty Mobility Program

As part of the Faculty Mobility Program between Baden-Württemberg and Connecticut, the Ministry of Science, Research and  Arts offers scholarships for short research stays at participating partner institutions.

The aim of the program is to strengthen existing and initiate new collaborations. Scientists in Baden-Württemberg and Connecticut who are interested in a closer cooperation and want to actively participate in the state program can apply for funding.

Heidelberg University, University of Freiburg, University of Konstanz, University of Tübingen, University of Mannheim, University of Hohenheim, University of Stuttgart, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, University of Ulm, Heidelberg University of Education, University of Education Freiburg, Karlsruhe University of Education, Ludwigsburg University of Education, University of Education Schwäbisch Gmünd, University of Education Weingarten

  • In Connecticut:

University of Connecticut, Central Connecticut State University, Eastern Connecticut State University, Southern Connecticut State University, Connecticut College, Trinity College, Wesleyan University, University of Hartford, Yale University, Yale Divinity School

DURATION OF PROGRAM

Grants are offered for short-term stays of three to ten days at one of the participating institutions.

GRANT

  • travel allowance of 1,200€
  • funding of 150€ per diem (arrival and departure day are each counted as half days)

APPLICATION

Please submit your application via e-mail (all documents attached as one pdf file) to Ms Elisabeth Trnka-Hammel, International Relations Office, Heidelberg University.

Application documents:

  • application form with short summary of the project
  • CV with list of publications
  • detailed project description including explanation of the choice of host/ the hosting institution and the significance of travel for future collaborations
  • invitation letter of host/hostess

Scholarship decisions will be taken by a committee, which is determined by the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts.

DEADLINE

Applications for the calendar year 2026 must be submitted by November 25, 2025.
