E-learning course for staff and students
In the AI Basic Skills Course, you will learn how artificial intelligence works, where it is used in daily life and how you can use AI tools in practice and with legal certainty. You will find out how to avail yourself of AI responsibly and how to assess its opportunities and limits. The course will give you basic skills for use in teaching, research, administration and student affairs. It will prepare you to quickly recognize potential risks, such as data protection and copyright issues, distortions or hallucinations, and to handle them confidently.
This is a self-study course addressed to all the members of the university. It is available in English and German on the Moodle learning platform at Heidelberg University.
Working through the course material takes about 2 to 3 hours, and participants can take a break at all stages. Consequently, they can integrate the course content flexibly into their everyday work schedules. Furthermore, it is possible to earn a certificate indicating the successful completion of the course. That requires a score of least 80% correct answers to the course-related quiz questions.
