International Summer School (ISS) 2024 - Application Deadline March 11, 2024

The International Summer School (ISS) 2024 at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is now open for applications! Are you looking for an in person summer programme that combines excitement, academic enrichment, where you can make lifelong friends from across the globe,  learn in an open and stimulating environment, and spend a fun-filled summer exploring a cosmopolitan city? The CUHK ISS is ready to welcome you in person on the scenic CUHK campus for a stimulating and enriching academic and cultural experience.

Corona entry regulations

The mandatory quarantine requirement for entrants from mainland China, Taiwan and overseas has been lifted. Post-entry testing requirements have also been removed. Inbound travelers from overseas, Taiwan & Macau are required to submit a negative RAT test result within 24 hours prior to departure for Hong Kong.

Inbound travelers must be fully vaccinated prior to arrival.

Exchange Program

Two study places are available within the framework of an exchange agreement with the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The renowned university is characterized by bilingualism and offers study opportunities in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, economics and engineering. Students of all subjects except medicine are eligible to apply, primarily from the undergraduate level. In law, course selection is very limited. Languages of instruction are English and Chinese.

Important note for applicants: for law students it is required to submit a TOEFL/IELTS report or a letter of certification for review by the law faculty.

Scholarship Benefits
Fee waiver. In addition, exchange students have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship from the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung.
Requirements
  • At least three completed semesters at Heidelberg University at the time of starting the scholarship
  • Excellent academic performance and a very well-developed study project
  • Very good command of English
