Commissioner of the Rectorate Anti-Corruption Commissioner
The unselfish performance of official duties without regard for personal gain is a fundamental principle of public service, which is practiced at Heidelberg University.
Jasmin Giovane is a company lawyer and holds the position of anti-corruption commissioner at Heidelberg University. She helps to strengthen the awareness of all employees of the problems and responsibilities involved in complying with the rules and regulations of Heidelberg University. The associated awareness of the issue of corruption prevention serves to protect employees from unintentional behavior that could lead to criminal consequences under the Criminal Code and additional consequences under labor and service law on the part of the employer/authority.
Employees who, in relation to their office or position and the powers entrusted to them, obtain economic advantages for themselves or third parties to which they are not entitled, jeopardize the public's trust in their reliability and damage the reputation of the entire university.
One of the fundamental principles of Heidelberg University is the trust placed in the integrity of each individual employee upon their appointment or entry into service. It should be noted that no employee or other person working for Heidelberg University is under general suspicion.
