Flower beds on the neuenheimer Feld campus

The ‘Bee Happy – Bee Wild’ project aims at creating flower beds on the Neuenheimer Feld Campus to increase the food supply for indigenous wild and honey bees and other insects. The project was initiated by the BUND university group in cooperation with Students for Future and the Ecology and Sustainability Unit of the Student Council and is supported by Heidelberg University and by the Mannheim and Heidelberg offices of Vermögen und Bau Baden-Württemberg as a measure for increasing biodiversity on the Neuenheimer Feld Campus.

bicycle repair station

A student-operated bicycle repair station at the northern entrance of the central canteen on the Neuenheimer Feld Campus allows cyclists to carry out simple bike repairs on their own. In addition to a large selection of tools, the bicycle repair station offers bicycle pumps and adapters for different valve types. A QR code at the front of the station allows users to access repair instructions. The bicycle repair station is checked regularly by students from the university’s own bicycle repair shop URRmEL. The project is supported by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport in the context of the mobility programme ‘Bicycle stands and bicycle infrastructure.’
