Sommersemester 2022 HEI_INNOVATION Talks: Entrepreurship
Im Sommersemester 2022 organisiert hei_INNOVATION wieder eine Vortragsreihe zum Thema Entrepreneurship und Innovation, die die Vorlesung „Entrepreneurship“ der Universität Heidelberg ergänzt. Die Reihe montags statt und beginnt am 25. April 2022. Sie präsentiert Sprecherinnen und Sprecher, die sich in den Bereichen Entrepreneurship, Innovationsmanagement und Business Model Innovation hervorgetan haben.
Die Vorträge beginnen jeweils um 17:00 Uhr und finden online in englischer Sprache statt. Sie sind öffentlich und alle sind willkommen.

Currently, you can find the Pro Delight ice cream in 2500 supermarkets. Also, Marvin is volunteering as a mentor for Enactus, and is politically active to drive improve conditions for innovations and start-ups.

Daniel Lohner is a Lead Data Scientist at the Boston Consulting Group. He studied physics at Heidelberg and worked at the ALICE experiment at CERN during his PhD where he discovered his passion for data science. In 2014, Daniel decided to pursue a consulting career and worked as a data scientist in various industries, mainly in the financial and healthcare industry. During his MBA at RSM, he discovered his passion for entrepreneurship and started several – both successful and unsuccessful - intrapreneurial initiatives in the data science domain

In his position as CTO, he is responsible for the product development of software solutions that help caregivers by automating bureaucratic tasks so they can focus on people in need. David Müller led the negotiations to acquire a majority stake in MDR Scout, a company developing software for medical device management, run by Felix Hoffmann who is a well-known digital health expert and doctor.

Karsten Krispin studied physics and got most interested in the large photon collider called world. That is why he specialized in computer vision in the fields of reference data creation and algorithm benchmarking. He successfully not pursued a PhD. As a consultant, he helped Silicon Valley companies to establish quality assurance systems for their large pile of data. A successful application for EXIST Forschungstransfer made him one of the co-founders of rabbitAI with the missions to support AI practitioners with tailored datasets.

Michael Pfeifer holds a B.Sc. from the University of Mannheim and an M.Sc. from Católica Lisbon. Having worked for both corporates (e.g. Allianz, ProSieben Sat1) and startups, Michael has experienced ups and downs on both sides. Two years ago, he founded and bootstrapped the upcycling fashion startup MOOT (= an acronym for Made Out Of Trash). With MOOT, Michael and his co-founder Nils (a fashion designer) are aiming to make upcycling of textiles scalable.

Vanessa Cann is Managing Director at the German AI Association (KI Bundesverband e.V.).
The political scientist previously headed the Artificial Intelligence and Future Mobility platforms at German Startups Association, where she brought startups together with established companies and investors. Vanessa Cann developed her interest in artificial intelligence in political consulting, where she advised Fortune500 companies on their digital policies. She is involved as a mentor for startups and with Women in AI.
Michael Feygelman is project lead of the KI-Garage, a start-up support program for AI start-ups from Baden-Württemberg. He has already founded a company by himself. Besides AI, he is passionate about logistics and table tennis. As a teenager, he won the German championship title in Shaolin KungFu in his weight class.

Amanda Daquila stepped into her role as Executive Director of Heidelberg University Association, Heidelberg University's New York office, in 2019. Amanda has a strong background in international education, alumni affairs, and nonprofit management. She served as Senior Program Director at Cultural Vistas in New York City, an international educational nonprofit organization. She is very familiar with alumni work as she oversaw the founding and development of the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Alumni Association (CBYXAA) in her previous position during the last years. Amanda holds a B.A. in Germanic Languages & Literatures and Economics from the University of Pittsburgh and an M.A. in Area Studies from Virginia Tech.
Dr. Mridul Agrawal is a physician, scientist, and healthcare entrepreneur with a focus on cancer. He is President and Co-Founder of iuvando Health, a Germany-based digital health startup which supports cancer patients to unlock novel treatment pathways in clinical trials. Prior, Dr. Agrawal was a research fellow at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) at Harvard Medical School and MIT with a particular interest in studying blood cancer. Dr. Agrawal studied medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (Baltimore), University of Zurich and Heidelberg University, where he graduated with a doctorate degree. He also obtained a master’s degree in Health Economics from Heidelberg University. Dr. Agrawal has been honored with multiple highly prestigious national and international awards both in his role as a physician-scientist and entrepreneur.

Magnus von Knebel Doeberitz is Professor of Molecular Oncology and Medical Director of the Department of Applied Tumor Biology, Institute of Pathology of the University of Heidelberg. He is also head of the Clinical Cooperation Unit F210 of the German Cancer Research Center and is affiliated with the Molecular Medicine Partner Unit of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL_MMPU). He served as founder and board member of several biotech companies, including mtm-labs (www.mtm-labs.com) that was acquired by Roche in 2011. Magnus von Knebel Doeberitz spent his post doc period in the laboratory of Nobel laureate Harald zur Hausen at DKFZ. 1995 he was appointed as Professor of Molecular Oncology in the Department of Surgery, University of Heidelberg. 2001 he became Medical Director of the Department of Applied Tumour Biology at the University of Heidelberg. His major scientific interests relate to mechanisms of human carcinogenesis by papillomaviruses and DNA mismatch repair deficiency. He identified novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets and validated them in clinical trials. He co-authored more than 300 peer-reviewed articles. He is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Cancer and member of the Editorial Boards of various other journals in oncology. He received numerous prestigious scientific awards and is inventor of several patent families in his research areas.
