Social Counselling is aimed at students who have questions about covering the cost of living, pregnancy, childcare options, or life planning in general. Social Counselling functions as a coordination office for other advisory services within the Studierendenwerk and the University and provides information on social facilities as well as offers for students (with children).

Tuesdays and Wednesdays 11.00am - 1.00pm
If you register in advance by phone, additional one-on-one appointments can be arranged. This applies especially to pregnant women or students who would like to talk about family planning or family-related problems.
For information on holiday periods, please check Campus HD of the Studierendenwerk. There is no holiday cover.
Psychosocial Counselling (PBS) offers professional advice in personal situations of conflict, such as:
- work difficulties
- exam anxiety
- difficulties with decision making
- relationship problems
- trouble meeting other people
- low self esteem
- anxieties and inhibitions
- depressive moods
- troubling life events
If a therapy is necessary, the PBS will help you find a therapist.
You may also make use of our anonymous internet based counselling.
All counselling sessions, whether in person or internet-based, are strictly confidential. There is no charge.

Pre-registration: Please register for the open office hours in person (i.e. not by telephone or email) at the office between 10.30am and 11am. You will have a counselling session afterwards.
Within its area of responsibility, the Studierendenwerk offers legal advice on student-specific matters free of charge. Legal transactions, however, are not handled; as such, no lawsuits are conducted and no legal papers are drawn up. Counselling is available during office hours only, there is no counselling over the phone or on written requests.
