The Research Alumni Network currently consists of more than 400 international scientists that are staying or have stayed in Heidelberg to conduct research. The network offers special services to all international PhD students, postdocs and established scientists during and after their research stay.

Humboldt Professorship for Linguist

Moreno

The Spanish linguist Prof. Dr Francisco Moreno-Fernández is receiving a Humboldt Professorship to research and teach at Heidelberg University. With this, Prof. Moreno-Fernández has won Germany's most highly endowed international research prize and will direct the new interdisciplinary Heidelberg Center for Ibero-American Studies (HCIAS) at Ruperto Carola. Ruperto Carola Approved for DFG Funding

In the latest round of applications, Heidelberg University has won support from the German Research Foundation (DFG) to fund multiple Collaborative Research Centres (CRC) and a Research Training Group. Approximately 71 million euros of funding will go to both newly established and continued research institutions. [More...]

National Climate Policy Pays Off

A study conducted by an international team of researchers including scientists from Heidelberg has proven that a national climate policy pays off: ambitious political strategies aimed at promoting renewable energy sources and increasing energy efficiency have made a noticeable contribution to reducing carbon emissions. The researchers found a sustained decline in such emissions in 18 countries over the period from 2005 to 2015. [More...]
