Open positions

Post-Doctoral researchers:

Within the frame of the Cluster of Excellence 3D Matter Made to Order (3DMM2O), the Blasco group focus on the development of new polymer-based functional materials with application in 4D microprinting. The additional fourth dimension refers to the ability of the printed materials to change its properties, such as shape or functionality, over time. Adaptability is a key feature for the applications in life sciences. Dynamic systems that can be adapted and interact with the cells are highly desired in order to mimic the 3D cellular environment in living organisms.

Living Afm

The group is seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher with a strong interest in polymer chemistry as well as 3D printing. The aim of the project is the development of new adaptive multi-responsive printable biomaterials that can be applied in biomedical applications. The post-doctoral researcher will work in an interdisciplinary and international environment with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities at newly funded Centre for Advanced Materials (CAM) at Heidelberg University.

Funding
A scientific staff position (f/m/d) with a remuneration of 100% E13 is offered. The funding is secured for 2 years (extension for one year is possible). The candidate will also benefit from the offers and structure provided by the HEiKA Graduate School on Functional Materials, which is integrated into the Cluster of Excellence.

Requirements
-    PhD degree in chemistry or material science
-    Background in synthetic organic and polymer chemistry and 3D printing
-    Experience in 3D printing and biomaterials is advantageous
-    Good level of English (oral and written) is essential

Qualified women are strongly encouraged to apply. Disabled persons with equivalent aptitude will be favored.

Please send your application (CV, publication list, transcripts and reference letters in a single PDF) to eva.blasco@oci.uni-heidelberg.de

Deadline: 31.12.2022

We are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher with a strong interest in polymer and 3D printing to work on the design of autonomously active materials systems, which can interact selectively and dynamically with functional microstructures in confined fluid systems. The post-doctoral researcher will be in charge developing the methodology for manufacturing of the desired functional microstructures in confined systems by combining two-photon laser printing and microfluidics. The project will be carried out in collaboration with the group of Prof. A. Walther in Germany and the groups of Prof. A. Sen and Prof. A. Balazs in the US.

The postdoctoral researcher will work in an interdisciplinary and international environment with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities at the new Institute for Molecular Systems Engineering and Advance Materials (IMSEAM) at Heidelberg University.

Funding
A scientific staff position (f/m/d) with a remuneration of 100% TV-L E13 pay scale is offered. The funding is secured for two years and can be potentially extended for one additional year.

Requirements
-    PhD degree in chemistry or material science
-    Background in polymer chemistry and 3D printing
-    Experience in two photon laser printing and microfluidics are advantageous
-    Good level of English (oral and written) is essential

Please send your application (CV, publication list, transcripts and reference letters in a single PDF) to eva.blasco@oci.uni-heidelberg.de

Deadline extended: 11.12.2022
