Auditions

Capella Carolina

New members for the winter term are welcome! Group auditions are held 45 minutes (7:15 p.m.) before the regular rehearsal starts. In summer term 2026: 

09., 16., 23., 30.4.2026, at 7.30 p.m., INF 252, Großer Hörsaal (grand lecture hall).

No individual auditions required!

Prof. Franz Wassermann

Dirigent Franz Wassermann Prof. Franz Wassermann, choir conductor of the Camerata Carolina and Capella Carolina choirs, is music director at the University of Heidelberg. He received his musical training in Karlsruhe, Stuttgart and Trossingen under the supervision of Helmuth Rilling and other great musicians. Since creating the Capella Carolina, Franz Wassermann has been conducting the “Big Choir” of the Capella Carolina, the GSG9 ensemble and the chamber choir Camerata Carolina. He teaches at Heidelberg University and is guest lecturer at various universities in Canada, USA, Chile, France, Italy, Georgia and Armenia. Franz Wassermann is not only an experienced choir and orchestra conductor, but also performs as an organ soloist and is guest conductor of the Georgian National Philharmonic in Kutaisi and the Armenian National Opera in Yerevan.

In 2025, Prof Wassermann was awarded the title of "Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres" by the French ministry of culture.
