Kyōto meets Heidelberg: choral works from Germany and Japan
The university choir Heimat an der Universität Kyōto and the chamber choir Camerata Carolina, Internationales Studienzentrum der Universität Heidelberg, meet for a musical programme ‘Kyōto meets Heidelberg: choral works from Germany and Japan’ in the Alte Aula of the university. They will present works by Brahms, Bruckner and Reger, as well as folk songs from Japan and Germany. The two choirs will get to know each other musically in the run-up to Camerata Carolina's trip to Japan in September, when they will perform together in Kyōto.
Conductors: Prof Hideki Motoyama, Shiki Kunieda, Mutsumi Shiraishi and Prof Franz Wassermann
Ms Kanno, Deputy Director of The Kyoto University European Centre in Heidelberg, and Ms Schenk, Head of the Heidelberg University Office Kyoto (HUOK), made this concert possible by establishing connections and providing extensive support.
