Large Choir

CapCa 2019

Around 80 active members coming from different countries make up the Capella Carolina’s “Large Choir”. International students who may not yet speak German very well will quickly find new friends in this multicultural mosaic. Foreign and German students alike, as well as friends of the ISZ, have the possibility to experience German culture through music. Many choir members have developed new friendships that often continue even after the international students have returned to their home country.

Choir rehearsals are intensive yet maintain a friendly atmosphere. The choir director, who has a background in vocal training, focuses on vocal technique in every weekly choir practice.

Every semester, we work on a large, usually an oratorical work. Examples from previous semesters include: Handel’s “Messiah”, Rossini's "Petite Messe Solenelle”, Mendelssohn's "Elias” or Dvořák's "Stabat Mater" (other examples).

More information on our next concerts can be found here.
