“Personalities of Heidelberg”

Based on the translation project of the “Science Atlas of the University of Heidelberg” this approximately 90-minute tour deals with important personalities closely associated with the city and the University of Heidelberg. The tour leading from the Institute of Translation and Interpreting through the old town to the University Square will take stops at memorials and buildings to introduce the many famous personalities in this city’s history .
Selected stops will be: the Robert Bunsen Memorial (photo) at which Bunsen’s contribution to science and spectral analysis will be explained, the President Friedrich Ebert Memorial in the old town, from where we will walk to the Old Bridge. In front of a romantic backdrop we will talk about romanticism in Heidelberg and recall famous poets like Eichendorff, Hölderlin, and others. The tour will end at the University Square.
