The Translators’ Days of Baden-Wuerttemberg

The Translators’ Days of Baden-Wuerttemberg were launched in 1998 as part of a State Government initiative to promote literature in all its facets, from its formation to the preservation of the State’s literary heritage. Every two years, the Translators’ Days are hosted by a different city in Baden-Wuerttemberg.

The Translators’ Days were initiated by the “Freundeskreis zur internationalen Förderung literarischer und wissenschaftlicher Übersetzungen e. V.” (an association for the international promotion of literary and scientific translations). Their goal is to draw the attention of a wider public to literary translations and to provide translators with an  opportunity to enhance the public visibility of their work.
