Master's Program

B _0_

The Master’s in political science is a four-semester program. Over the course of the program students will take various compulsory elective modules and complete a research internship. The master’s offers graduate students the opportunity to gain first-hand insights into current research and develop their own scientific specializations.

Further information can be found in the tabs below.

The compulsory module Research Internship comprises an accompanying seminar and intern work in one of the research projects at the institution. The combination of coursework and practical experience provides a theoretically and methodologically founded introduction to the world of research. The skills and competencies students develop within the seminar will be actively applied to their internships. It is therefore recommended that students complete the seminar prior to beginning their internships, though it is possible to complete both components of the module concurrently.

The seminar focuses on topics related to the development and implementation of qualitative-comparative and quantitative research designs. Students will also learn about research methods that are particularly relevant for political science.

The thematic breath of the research projects offered range from conflict and democracy research to analyses of international comparative policy and foreign policy.

For the 2025 academic year students have the opportunity to work with researchers at the Institute for Political Science and neighboring faculties with the following research projects here.
