  • 1993-2020 teaching fellow for Semitic Studies at the University of Heidelberg.
  • 1999-2013 in addition teaching fellow for Hebrew linguistics at the College of Jewish Studies Heidelberg (Hochschule für Jüdische Studien "Hebräische Sprachwissenschaft").
  • 2016-2021 teaching Aramaic linguistics and "(Jewish) Targum Aramaic" at the University of Salzburg ("Syriac Theology").

Main research area

Canaanite and Aramaic language and culture, history and literature of the Jewish people throughout antiquity, Hebrew and Aramaic epigraphy and linguistics, the dead sea scrolls and the manuscripts of the Cairo Geniza.
