Internet Platform of the European Research Network on Global Pentecostalism (GloPent) launched

31 March 2008

The  Department of History of Religion and Missions Studies at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Heidelberg announces the official launch of the internet platform of the European Research Network on Global Pentecostalism (GloPent)

GloPent (www.glopent.net) is an interdisciplinary and international research network, committed to the study of global Pentecostal and Charismatic Christianity, with a particular interest in Africa, Asia and Latin America. It was founded by established scholars of the University of Heidelberg, the University of Birmingham, and the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

The web site not only offers current information on GloPent and Pentecostal/Charismatic studies in general, it is also a multi-user platform, facilitating contributions of GloPent participants and networking scholars on global Pentecostalism from various academic fields. Registered users may introduce their own research there, announce publications and academic conventions, publish bibliographies and papers, comment on other contributions and provide links to web locations. Furthermore, the site also offers a customized search engine for locating primary and secondary sources in studies on Pentecostalism.

The website also hosts the peer-reviewed interdisciplinary on-line journal PentecoStudies,  published under the auspices of GloPent.
